GCHS Eagle’s Eye announces the winner of the Halloween contest that took place on October 24th through October 31st.

All costumes had to be school appropriate and within the school’s dress code. Everyone who participated had creative costumes; two of those people were chosen to win a gift card from either Sonic or Chick-Fil-A.

Senior Makayla Mangrum was one of the people that were chosen to win a gift card. Mangrum came dressed to school as a banana, and her entry pictured her posed alongside a supermarket banana display. “My costume was different and it made me stand out. It was last minute and I didn’t have to waste money to buy a costume since I already had that costume,” Mangrum stated. She enjoys Halloween because she is able to spend time with her family.

Junior Alyssa came to school dressed as a zombie and she as well won a gift card to Sonic. She loves Halloween because it is usually fun and scary. Her idea behind the costume came from her working at a haunted house, “I work at a hunted house and I’m just really into doing makeup for the scary things,” she commented.
