On Oct 12th, 2019, Grave County Cross Country put the “fast” in Fast Cats in Owensboro, KY.

Head Coach Dara Miller and Assitant coach Kayla had been working all fall break with these runners and it showed.

20 of the runners, both middle school and high school, reached a new personal record. Senior Maci Green shaved a good 3 minutes off of her Personal Record, and 6 minutes since the last 2018 Fast Cats.

Senior Issac Lockwood and 7th grader Rhea Mathis were the first of Graves’s County reach the finish line in each of their races with Freshmen Aaron Smith and Senior Claire Lamb right behind them.

Issac came in 27th place and Rhea came in 51st place.

But even with these accomplishments, it wasn’t enough to place first.

While they weren’t number one, they still have an unmatchable bond, as Issac Lockwood said, “like family.”
