This past week the GCHS Photography classes took a field trip to the Murray State University Arboretum.

It is located at 300 Hickory Dr, Murray, KY 42071. The Arboretum features many different aspects that make for a beautiful day trip. The display gardens feature many activities available. Come take a stroll, bring the kids to explore the playgrounds available, go for a run, or walk your dog (on a leash of course) on the 0.8-mile long track, but remember to leave your bike at home because they don’t allow bikes on the trail.

Come out during the daylight hours and visit the gazebo, water fountain flowing down the hill into the pond, or even the butterfly bush home to so many different species native to the area.

The big pavilion of in the middle of the arboretum is even open for rental, reserve it or one of the smaller pavilions for your next party, shower, or reception.

The next time you are in Murray, stop by to give the Arboretum a visit.
