Our GCHS Coed Cheer team competed at at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in attempt to claim their 8th national championship title this past week.

The countless nights of team practices and hard work on their own got the team first runner up in the “Large Varsity Coed” category.

Bartow High School took the title of national champions in the same division.

The team seems to be closer than any other organization at GC, their hard work and determination clearly proves that each and every member of the team loves what they do. Senior Deanna Beard shares, “I wouldn’t trade the memories I’ve made with this team for anything.”

Along with the hard work, there are many benefits that come with being a part of GCHS’ Coed team. Nationals is always held in Florida, so the team gets to fly out to compete. They stay for a week and are able to spend some free time at Disney World along with many other attractions that create lifelong memories that bring the team even closer together.

Senior night for GCHS Coed is tonight at 6:30.
