2 years ago, Graves County  High School introduced introduced Pop Acapella.

Directed by Mr. Rice, a college acapella alumni, the group has been hosting auditions this past week. Students were prepared to do all types of warmups, and conclude with a verse of song of their choice.

Paige Jones, junior, said,”He [Mr. Rice] is a very talented person. I know can teach us a lot just by using only our voice and also could also give us a chance to switch up a few things.”

Jones went on to suggest having sopranos have the beat and the “guys” sing melody, a form that is rarely seen or heard.

The group will meet regularly after school from 3:30 pm to about 5 pm .
