Friday night, January 4th, the Eagles faced off the Cardinals at the Mayfield High School.

The game was truly intense as they battled it out. After the first quarter, the Cardinals led by 1 point. The Eagles never gave up as they were in the lead at end of the second quarter.

As the game progressed, Mayfield scored a few 3 point shots that put Graves down. After halftime, Mayfield continued their lead. Graves kept their determination, but it wasn’t enough to pull through.

The final score was 69-64.

Graves senior Ryan Mathis confirms, “We have to get better at the free throw line and we have to hit all our shots under the rim. If we would have hit all those shots we missed, we would have won easily.”

Graves plays Mayfield again on February 8th and the Eagles are eager for redemption.
