As the Christmas season is quickly approaching, many will be celebrating with loved ones and opening gifts with holiday cheer. However, that is not the case for some, and that is why the spirit of giving around the holidays is so valued.

Superior Care Home- Nursing and Rehabilitation of Paducah is a prime example of those who give year-round and a little extra when it comes to the holidays.

Recently Dee Metcalf, Resident Life Coordinator at Superior Care, was asked about the fundraising opportunities hosted by the facility.

“The staff at Superior tries to open our hearts for those in need and also getting the word out to the community,” Metcalf explained. “When you are offered the option to help those of less fortune or with disabilities during this season, which may be hard to cope with alone. Be the person you would want to help you in a time of need.”

Metcalf described one of their most popular fundraisers: The Annual Christmas Bazaar.

“It is hosted in our Community Room during early December, where resident-crafted gifts are auctioned off and baked goods are sold with all proceeds going towards the Alzheimer’s Association.”
