CANDLE ALIGHT– Light at candle at 8 pm in your window to show support for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one, and for the survivors of suicide.

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the problems of suicide and suicide behavior at an universal level.

To honor the day, nations all over the globe wear yellow or write “love” on their wrist.

The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) takes charge of most of the days’ events, encouraging people all over the world to share how they observe Suicide Prevention Day on their website (http://www.iasp.info/). This year, IASP is hosting its first core activity, called Cycle Around the World, with the aim to globally raise awareness of suicide and its prevention, along with reducing the reproach associated with it.

The IASP also encourages another tribute to the day, asking supporters to light a candle in their window at 8 pm to show support for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one, and for the survivors of suicide.
