Christmas is coming soon

The FCCLA club is collecting donations to place in shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. Operation Christmas Child is a program in which families all over the nation pack a shoebox full of items that will be sent to a child who wouldn’t otherwise receive a Christmas present.

Donations do not have to be expensive, every little item could impact a kids life forever. Items are needed for both girls and boys, of ages 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14. Donation items could include toothbrushes, small stuffed animals, pencils, erasers, toys, coloring books, markers, a personal note, bracelets, stickers, dolls, notebooks, etc. Please do not bring any perishable items, they cannot be put in any boxes. If you are struggling on what to bring you can go to the official shoebox website and a list is posted based on the ages and genders along with more details.

Any FCCLA member can attend a packing party on November 5th to help fill and pack every box. Community service hours will be given to those who participate.

Junior Cassidy Payne states, “As an officer of this club, I am thankful many students like to participate knowing they are making a difference in a child’s life.”
