The GCHS chess team competed in their first tournament of the season Saturday, October 13 hosted at Murray Elementary school.

The team came in 2nd place overall. Graves victories at this tournament include Kyle McDaniel with 3 wins, Aidan Wallace with 3 wins, Ethan Jetton with 3 wins, Kyler Thompson with 3 wins, Austin Watson with 2 wins, Andrea Baldassi with 2 wins, and Tracy Hibbard with 2 wins. If you see any of these members, please congratulate them on a job well done.

Senior Tracy Hibbard says, “Even though I won by default, it was still worth it to go. It was definitely an experience and I’m really glad I got to go.”

Catch our Eagle’s chess team’s next match, the Murray Scholastic Tournament on Saturday, October 27 at MSU!
