Graves County CTE classes recently held a chicken dinner fundraiser for the Marshall Strong cause.

The tragic Marshall County shooting affected the nation and especially our neighboring communities when two students were killed in the nearby high school.

The Career and Technical Education classes at Graves County High School put together a fundraiser that sold 500 chicken dinners to Graves County staff. The dinner included a grilled half chicken, loaded smashed potato, baked beans, dessert cookie, and a roll for $10.

Teacher Makayla Kim said, “it was a joint effort from all of the CTE departments. Kids from all our classes pulled together to organize, cook, advertise, and deliver each and every meal.”

Senior Preston Puckett said, “We sold the food to the staff so that we could do something to help our friends from Marshall.”

Graves County raised $5,000 for Marshall and presented the check to the school at the Graves County vs. Marshall County game on February 15th.
