GC Girls Bowling advances to state

Graves County boys and girls bowling teams attended the regional bowling match on January 27 against McCracken County and Warren central.

GC Girls won all matches and advanced to the State Tournament, with Allison Kelley placing 3rd in singles.

The boys team beat Warren central with a score of 3-2, but they were defeated by McCracken County with a 3-1 score.

Before the match, Senior bowling member Allison Kelley told us, “It’s much better for us to work as a team. We’ve practiced a ton on our Tuesday and Thursday practices, but we all have been putting in extra time to prepare for the actual day.”

Christian Kaler, senior, said that he was excited to take on his last set of matches before he graduates. “If we win, then we go to state, which would be highly talked of at school, and put a better name for Graves County. I’m nervous, but the first step is getting there.”

The team returned to school on Monday in good spirits.

Kelley added, “We learned that working as a team made us accomplish whatever was put in front of us.”
