GCHS students place at KY Beta Convention
This January, GCHS Beta traveled to The Kentucky Senior Beta Convention in Lexington, KY. The club competed in a variety of events, including Science Division 1 and 2, Math Division 1 and 2, Creative Writing, Speech, Scrapbook, Banner, Talent and Visual Arts.
Caitlyn Beane placed 3rd in photography and Nikki Gregory placed 3rd in watercolor.
The two students will go on to compete at the National Senior Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia this June.
Sponsor Jessica Robinson stated that “convention is a great place to meet new people and to see what other service projects the other schools across the state are doing.”
Robinson is already looking forward to next year’s convention, but feels that the club could do more for the school and community for the remainder of the year. “Our goal for the rest of this year is to get more active in our school and community,” she said, “and figure out where we can serve and help.”
