While Nike issued a statement saying it is working on fixing its NBA jerseys to make them stronger after repeated rips have tainted the start of its new high-level deal with the league, Players continue to see their uniforms tear. The latest is the Indiana Pacers small forward, Thaddeus Young, who tore his own jersey around the collar out of frustration during a game Sunday night.

Young’s tear stands out because it is only the second instance of the 2017-18 season when one player tore his own jersey, the other being Kevin Love’s accidental rip. Tyler Ennis, Draymond Green, LeBron James and Ben Simmons also had their jerseys torn, but those were from physical contact.

President and CEO of Nike, Mark Parker, commented on the torn jersey predicament during a recent interview with CNBC, saying the company had “isolated the problem and fixed the situation.”
