Anna Sui, designer of the hippie-esque Spring 2018 show, created a collection that was far from the basic uniform of fashion.Psychedelic vibes were present as the models were being prepared for the runway. Makeup artist, Pat McGrath , painted flowers on models’ bodies and accented their eyes with lines of glitter. “Love, color, and sparkles!” Gigi Hadid, an “It-girl” of the 21st century, described it.

Sui spelled out Woodstock perfectly with dream-like patterns and frontier-style lace. Fringe of all sorts, both feathery and tasseled, hemmed the sleeves of kimonos, and accented belts that lazily fell around the waist.

Sui captured the Summer of Love flawlessly, but also echoed the protests of today. Along with Creatures of the Wind’s reference to the flower-child movement and Rihanna’s FentyxPuma collection, Sui spread a message of individuality and freedom.
