Fees Waived for Those Displaced by Flooding

National Forests in Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia are among the more than a dozen across the South to waive camp fees for the homeless due to recent floods in Texas and elsewhere.

The southern region of the Forest Service in the United States listed areas are Daniel Boone National Forest,the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, the Cherokee National Forests,George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, which span the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia and cross into parts of West Virginia and Kentucky.

The Forest Service recommends that websites be called up or verified to determine what is available. People who request the camps must log in with camp hosts at each location.
