GCHS future engineers learn new information, skills for future

Mr.Jim Whitaker’s engineering and computer science classes attended a field trip to the UK engineering campus located in Paducah, KY on October 27, 2016. The students listened to various presentations that taught them new things about engineering and things related.

As of 2016, the demand for engineers is very high. Quora.com says this is due to the fact that engineers are “comparably complex and valuable. It is because the society produces an excess of junior level teachers & architects and too few of the engineers and computer scientists.” Engineers run many popular businesses and companies such as Google, Amazon, and Wal-Mart.

Sophomore Hailey Canter aspires to be a computer engineer when she becomes an adult, when asked about her favorite part of the trip, she said, “My favorite part of the trip was learning about the opportunities that engineering offers.” Canter is in luck, because there are less female workers in the field, jobs occasionally seek out qualifying women opposed to males.
