On Tuesday, March 19, the Eagle’s baseball team made history by keeping a 6-0 record. The boys team has so far had an astounding season with zero losses.
The team has won against teams such as Carlisle, winning 13-0, Fulton County, 15-0, Union City, 8-1, McKenzie, 5-2, Murray, 5-2, and finally the boys played against Marshall County to make history.
The rankings of region 1 right now are:
1st: McCracken
2nd: Graves
3rd: Marshall
At the beginning of the game, Marshall took the early lead, but the Eagles came back to win the game. This is the first time that the GCHS boys baseball team has gone 6-0 since records have been kept.
Senior Gage Munsell says, “It felt good to beat a very competitive Marshall team and felt good to come back and win.”
Junior Carson Reed also stated, “It felt good to beat one of our rivals. We got down early but we kept on chipping away and came out with the dub.”
When asked about the teams goals this season Munsell stated, “ We want to win the region and go to state.”
The boys team will play this Friday against Dyer County at home.
