Several GCHS students attended the HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference last week, with 5 students placing in their events.

If you see these students, congratulate them on an outstanding job:

Olivia Stratton and Rachel Sweeney placed 2nd in the state for their Community Awareness project.

Madison Kinsey and Macy Marler placed top 5 in the state for their Public Health Education project.

Noah Hungerford placed top 5 in the state for his Prepared Speaking event.

Alyssa and Abby Maguire did not place in their Health Education event, but the judges were so impressed with their presentation that they went well over their interview time asking questions and praising their efforts.

These students will have a chance to compete this summer in the International HOSA Leadership Conference in Nashville.

Despite the long road to get there and the 2 hour, all too familiar, tornado warning spent in the hallway of the hotel until midnight, our students persevered with character and poise. There were several other school advisors who commented on the outstanding behavior of our students.
