Song Of The Week- Landslide by Fleetwood Mac

Throughout our lives we change. Whether, it be our hair, our musical taste, or personal style. People tend to be complex and fluid. This weeks song talks about change, and I personally connect to the story told. As a senior in high school my life is changing and will be changing drastically. Soon, I’ll graduate and that means I’ll be going to college. In “Landslide,” Stevie Nicks sings, “Well, I’ve been afraid of changing cause I’ve built my life around you.” To me this lyric really sticks out because it’s what I’m feeling. I’m terrified to graduate. I’ve built my life around my parents and I have no idea what I’ll do once I go away to college. I’m afraid and that’s okay. Stevie continues on to sing about how she has realizing as she ages that changing is okay. She begins to accept that. That’s where I’m at in my life. Yes I’m terrified of leaving my parents, but at the end of the day I’ve realized that I’m ready. This up coming change will be good. I’m ready for the landslide to happen because I know that the future it’s going to bring will be an amazing ride. I’m ready for the adventure.
